NM Representative Debbie Sariñana was elected to Albuquerque House District 21 in 2020. She currently serves on the House Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Committee, and the House Appropriations and Finance Committee. Her legislative focus is on education, crime, defense and energy. 

The Albuquerque native  enlised as a medical services specialist in the Air Force Reserve after earning her BS in education from New Mexico State University (NMSU). She later earned an MA in mathematics education from the University of New Mexico (UNM).

She was a computer teacher and computer programmer at White Sands Missile Range and a computer programmer/systems administrator/database manager at US Army Yuma Proving Ground, AZ. Later, she returned to Albuquerque to teach math at Manzano High School.
