Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico (HFNNM) traveled to Washington, DC on 3-5 June with a group of thirty-two US military veterans to provide them an opportunity to experience the memorials that have been erected to honor their service and sacrifice. The group visited the WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Memorials, as well as Arlington National Cemetery for a presentation at the Military Women’s Memorial and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The group included a 99-year-old WWII veteran, a Korean War veteran and thirty Vietnam veterans. Each veteran was accompanied by a Guardian, who helped support their assigned individual during the three-day trip. A staff of ten HFNNM board members and other volunteers guided the group and handled logistics, medical, and transportation needs.
