Women Veterans Day commemorates the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, which officially allowed women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. Armed Forces.  A variety of events will take place around the US, including here in New Mexico, where the following day, Saturday, June 13, an Albuquerque celebration will take place at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park, 1100 Louisiana SE.
