Dozens of Veterans and Military Organizations gathered at the New Mexico State House February 3 for the annual legislative salute to the Services, Veterans and their Families. The event provides an opportunity for VMFC members to talk with legislators and with the leadership of other New Mexico Veterans Organizations and to add new members to our roster.  VFMC shared a table at the gathering with Honor Flight Northern New Mexico, more than 10 new members were recruited to the Caucus and issues before the legislature discussed with Representatives and Senators.  During the ceremony in the rotunda, both Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and Chair of the House Committee on Labor, Veterans’ and Military Affairs, Representative Patricia Roybal Caballero, spoke. Representative Caballero gave a moving tribute to her father, Felipe Trujillo Roybal, who served in the U.S. Army from 1937 until 1972, during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
