Caucus Chair Frank Smith Announces Candidacy

Native New Mexican Frank Smith has announced his candidacy for the Sandoval County Commission, District 3.  Frank is a graduate of Manzano High School, the University of New Mexico and the Santa Clara School of Law. His tours of duty  In the U.S. Marine Corps between high school and college included Personnel Chief, Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, CA; Marine Drill Instructor at MCRD San Diego; NCOIC, Marine Detachment at the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA; and Personnel Chief to the Chief of Staff, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, NC.

In addition to Chairing VMFC, he’s served as a Legislation Advocate and regularly staffs VMFC Booths at events around the State.  Frank currently owns a small business providing midterm rentals to visiting first responders.

Candidate Forum

Healthy Climate New Mexico held a candidate forum tonight for candidates running for governor and lieutenant governor. Some of the candidates sent Representatives. About 220 people attended in person or on Zoom. One of the candidates present was caucus member Senator Harold Pope, who is running for lieutenant governor. The New Mexico environmental caucus was also there.
