Fellow Veterans, Military Families, and Friends,
It is an honor to serve as Chair of the New Mexico Veterans and Military Families Caucus.
Our caucus brings together veterans, military family members, advocates, and supporters around a simple principle: service does not end when we take off our uniform.
Over the past year, we have worked to ensure the voices of Veterans and Military Families are heard throughout New Mexico. We have advocated for legislation, worked to protect earned benefits, supported our military communities, and kept veterans’ issues front and center for elected officials and candidates.
There is still work to do.
Too many Veterans struggle to navigate the benefits and services they have earned. Military families continue to face challenges involving health care, housing, employment, and education. Our caucus must continue to educate, advocate, organize, and make sure Veterans and Military Families have a seat at the table.
And while we are a Democratic caucus, taking care of those who served should never be a partisan issue. Veterans’ issues are American issues.
I hope you will stay involved, bring another Veteran or Military Family member into the conversation, and help us continue building a stronger voice for those who served and their families.
Semper Fi,
